Flames set to Officially buy Roughnecks
Update- 4:26 pm
It is official. Brad Banister is out and Mike Board will be the GM of the Necks. Ken King, the new Roughnecks owner, has also said he wants to give the Roughnecks their own dressing room and make their presence felt around the arena.
This is great for the franchise and the league. We will have a ton of Roughnecks stuff tomorrow.
Update- 12:36 pm
We have some articles coming up soon, so I will have full recap of the press conference later tonight.
Yahoo! Canada is reporting that the NHL's Calgary Flames are set to buy the NLL's Calgary Roughnecks. The press conference is set to take place at 1pm, Calgary time.
The Roughnecks went on sale in January, right before the NLL season began. That's when rumors of folding began to swirl and it became clear the Roughnecks only savior could be the Flames. Only two other NHL teams (Colorado and Buffalo) own their city's NLL teams.
Stay tuned for updates through the rest of the day.
