Hamilton-Rochester Statistical Analysis 6/25
This is statistical recap of the second game between the Hamilton Nationals and the Rochester Rattlers. This game was played differently than the first matchup. While the first game featured Grant Catalino and Jeremy Boltus having a field day putting up 9 and 7 goals respectively, the second game showed an increase in defensive presence.
The highest scoring individual in this game was David Earl with 4 goals. Joe Walters came close to tying Casey Powell's single game record from 2003 of 8 assists by helping on 6 goals. Right behind Walters was Ned Crotty with 4 assists. The Nationals showed that they were devoted to keeping Crotty in bay during both games. The amazing thing is that even with the tighter defense and double teams, he was able to still score 3 goals and get 6 assists over both games. Time for the efficiencies!
The Nationals had the most consistent players between the two games, having 4 of their players being in the top 5 for both games. The only change was Brett Bucktooth replacing Jeremy Boltus.

Joe Walters gets the MVP from this game. Having 6 assists will go a long way in helping to build a successful team. Ball distribution never gets the attention that it deserves, so here's your 15 minutes of fame!
Unlike Hamilton, Rochester only managed to return 2 of their players into the top 5 (Anthony Kelly and Ned Crotty).

Now looking at the best shooters in this game, in terms of accuracy, we see a shift in who was showing off their skill (or possibly luck).
| Player | Goals | Shots on Goal | Total Shots | eS% |
| Brett Bucktooth | 2 | 2 | 2 | 1.000 |
| Jordan Levine | 1 | 1 | 1 | 1.000 |
| Matthew Cassalia | 2 | 3 | 3 | 0.889 |
| David Earl | 4 | 7 | 7 | 0.816 |
| Jordan McBride | 3 | 4 | 5 | 0.720 |
Like in the prior game between these two teams, I am still glad to see the top goal scorers shooting so well (Earl and McBride). Stay tuned for the analysis of the Cannons and Bayhawks game coming tomorrow.
