Lizards Travel to Hamilton to Face Red Hot Nationals
Hamilton is on a roll, winning two in a row last week against the Rochester Rattlers. Now they hold a playoff spot, just one game ahead of the slumping Lizards. Long Island took a beating from the Denver Outlaws last week, losing 16-10.
Now Hamilton looks to improve their record and their playoff hopes after finishing with the league's worst record last season. The Lizards suffered last week without John Grant Jr, but his expected return to the lineup should spark the hungry Long Island team.
The goalie carousel that is the Nationals has more decisions to make. Their last win saw Scott Rodgers play all but 31 seconds, while Joe Marra and Bryce Queener split the game in the one before. It is still unknown who will play in this one against the Lizards, but if there is any trend I expect to see Marra. He did not see any action last game while Queener saw a few seconds. Either Marra and Queener split or Marra and Rodgers.
The Lizards have been starting Drew Adams, who led the league in GAA last season. He has struggled this season, however, allowing the second most goals against in MLL.
While I call the Nats red hot, it is the winless Rattlers they have defeated, so many look at them as easy wins. However, I really liked what I saw from Hamilton in these games. They are winning without Garrett Billing and John Grant Jr. This in fact would be Grant's first game against his former team.
I say Nationals win this game because I like what they have done and I have my doubts about the Lizards. They miss Zack Greer and I can see the Nats bumping the Lizards right out of the playoffs.
