Statistics of the Stars: A Look Back at the All-Star Game
This past Saturday was the MLL All-Star game. I was impressed by the actual game part of it and also by the new goalie gauntlet, but the fastest shot and freestyle competitions seemed to be a bit lacking. One interesting thing that I took away from the game is that Paul Rabil wants to compete in the goalie gauntlet next year (I think this would be fun to watch even if it was just a joke).
Anyways, here are the numbers for the game following the jump.
Team Warrior
Team Warrior was able to emerge from this battle of scoring streaks with a 1 point win margin thanks to Stephen Peyser's goal with under 3 minutes left to be played. Brad Ross, the best player for Warrior, was able to score a hat trick, including a 2 point goal, in a game that had a lot of ball movement. Despite the movement, there were only 13 total assists in the game with 35 total goals.
| Rank | Player | Rating |
| 1 | Brad Ross | 6 |
| 2 | Ben Hunt | 3 |
| 3 | Drew Westervelt | 3 |
| 4 | Stephen Peyser | 3 |
| 5 | Brendan Mundorf | 3 |
Team Authority
Michael Kimmer wins the MVP for this game with an amazing 5 goals (three 2 pointers) and an assist to finish with a 9 point performance. This was unexpected due to him having 12 points this season with the Bayhawks and 12 points all last season. Hopefully this performance can carry over to the rest of the season in order to help the Bayhawks regain momentum.
| Rank | Player | Rating |
| 1 | Michael Kimmer | 13 |
| 2 | Peet Poillon | 3 |
| 3 | Ned Crotty | 3 |
| 4 | Max Seibald | 2 |
| 5 | Paul Rabil | 2 |
