Jacksonville Bullies Will Play in North American Lacrosse League

After being announced last month, the Jacksonville NALL franchise has a name. The Jacksonville Bullies will play in the North American Lacrosse League this winter, along with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Shamrocks and Charlotte NALL, still in the process of being named.
The team liked the idea of a Bulldog logo according to Stephen Stamp of ILIndoor.com, but did not want to be confused with the Georgia Bulldogs. So they will call themselves the Bullies and intended to bully the lacrosse world this winter.
The anchor hanging from the dog collar is to honor the US Navy Port located in Jacksonville. They will be the first Florida lacrosse franchise since the NLL's Orlando Titans, who folded in 2010 due to ownership issues. They will also be the second ever lacrosse franchise in the sunshine state.
The NALL will begin play in winter of 2012, the same time as NLL season, which should be interesting to watch even though the NALL claims they do not have any wish to compete with the NLL. NALL is to give American laxers a place to play box lacrosse.
Let's give a warm welcome to the Jacksonville Bullies!
