On the Paul Rabil Rumors

DENVER, CO - JULY 3: Dillon Roy #91 of the Denver Outlaws tries to play defense on Paul Rabil #99 of the Boston Cannons on July 3, 2011 during the first half at Invesco Field at Mile High Stadium in Denver, Colorado. Rabil had three goals and six points in a 15-12 victory over the Outlaws. (Photo by Marc Piscotty/Getty Images)

Paul Rabil was recently traded to the Edmonton Rush. On the NLL conference call yesterday, Derek Keenan acted as if he would be a member of the Rush. So.... how come all we are hearing about is how Rabil won't be on the Rush?

Before we go any further, I have no idea if he will be on the Rush or not. Here are a few links of people speculating whether he will be or not. Here is one from eight hours ago with Paul Stewart taking back his Paul Rabil will play remark. There were more tweets as the days have gone on

The question is, where does the speculation come from? We know that Paul Rabil is an east coast guy, and he just renewed his MLL contract to play with the Boston Cannons in 2012. He never seemed to have a problem playing in Washington for the past three years. However, here are some of his tweets on Edmonton after the trade. Here was one, where he said that he will miss playing on the west coast, and then one where he mocks EDM, which he later said meant Electronic Dance Music.

There is not much substance to the Rabil rumors, but somehow it is being widely speculated. Some have even connected it to the rumored "big" trade that Steve Bermel reported Buffalo will make, two days ago. For now, Rabil is a part of the Rush, and it is hard to assume otherwise without much proof.
