Report: Minnesota Swarm Trade Anthony Cosmo to Buffalo Bandits
According to Steve Bermel from IL Indoor, the Minnesota Swarm have traded goaltender Anthony Cosmo to the Buffalo Bandits. In Lax We Trust reported on a possible Cosmo trade this past Monday. The press release is expected to be out later today and this deal is not yet official.
The Bandits will trade two first rounds picks and a second to the Swarm for Cosmo's services. Cosmo, who was on the Boston Blazers last season, was selected by the Minnesota Swarm in the dispersal draft but he would not sign. The Swarm have since had the leverage with the outstanding play from rookies Tyler Carlson and Evan Kirk.
The Bandits have struggled in their past four games, as well as their goaltender, Mike Thompson. Cosmo is expected to be their new starter in net. The Bandits acquired one of the first round picks they traded to Minnesota from the Edmonton Rush, when they traded young defender Chris Corbeil.
The Swarm have made it one of their goals to draft Mark Matthews and Brock Sorensen in the draft, and with four first round draft picks now, that looks like reality.
Stay tuned to In Lax We Trust for more coverage, along with the press release later on in the day.
