MILA Expands to Indianapolis

MILA Logo

The Midwest Indoor Lacrosse Association is proud to announce the first expansion team in Indiana for the 2012 season. The Indy Swagger, owned and operated by Ken Levinberg, have joined the league for the MILA's second season and will play their home games in the Indianapolis area.

The Swagger are taking over the franchise previously announced to play in Lincoln Nebraska. MILA President and Commissioner Chip Rossetti explains, "We admitted Lincoln on the premise that we would have to find additional teams to bridge the gap. We had a few that were interested, but couldn't pull the trigger this season. The Lincoln franchise then became available and Ken jumped at the chance."

"I am very excited to enter the Indy Swagger into the MILA", Levinberg said. "This opportunity will give Indiana lacrosse fans a chance to see lacrosse at the highest level with the best talent in the area. Indy Swagger players and fans are ready for the box lacrosse revolution!"

Rossetti agreed. "We are thrilled to have Ken and the Swagger come on board with us for next season", Rossetti said. "Our league is growing and we are excited to get a great market like Indianapolis. It is a perfect fit, geographicaly, for the league."

Look for more announcements about the Swagger in the coming weeks.

Swagger?

What the hell do lacrosse teams have against nouns as team nicknames? Even if made up, at least I can picture what a Stickhorse might be. Jeebus.

I do not like the plural nick names really

Rock, Attack etc. I don’t mind Stealth or Swarm, somehow.
And Stick Horses = winning.

Name and Logo

The logo is just a temporary one until we get things rolling, but how can you not like a name with such attitude! Don’t like, it give us some ideas for a new one. We may be based in Indiana but we are a team that represents the people!

Keep the comments coming we have thick skin.

Stick Horses

;)
I have no issue with the same itself. I’m not a fan of plural nicknames but if the Rock exist no reason for the Swagger not to.

I think the logo would be sweet if Swagger was written in like a graffiti font.

then that encourages graffiti

Graffiti is wrong!
